Content of Workshop
System Overview – Patterns – making sense of the world and ourselves in it -humans as pattern makers and pattern perceivers – all humans are already movement analysts – Identifying 3 large overall patterns as linked to our perception and experience
Observation – through seeing, sensing, feeling and interpreting – how our awareness and language to support this process.
Experience – What do you see? What do you experience? How would you describe a movement event? An experience of moving what you see and how this can deepen your understanding.
Identifying the parts of movement through the LBMS BESS Components (Body Effort Space and Shape) and how these parts relate to the whole
This introductory workshop will focus on: The foundational Duality of Self/Other – Body/Space Components and their relationship. We will also introduce how this Body/Space duality is linked to the Components of Shape and Effort through motivation, intent, interaction and context
